Boris Johnson, Boy George, and Kate Moss relocate in 2022

Then the removal trucks and the hot tub installers showed up after a period of speculation and clandestine negotiations.

This year was no different for the capital’s A-listers when buying or selling luxury real estate. Many celebrities purchased new houses in the city’s most desirable neighborhoods or sold their vast mansions. The most notable celebrity house swaps of 2022 are listed here.

The Highgate home Kate Moss purchased for $11.5 million.

All eyes were on the remarkably featureless room the supermodel was dialing in from as she took the (virtual) witness stand during the Moss-Depp trial.

It has been said that Moss, who was formerly a mainstay of the Primrose Hill party scene, went across north London to The Grove in Highgate and swam in George Michael’s pool by climbing over her garden wall.

She sold her Highgate house for £11.5 million, a reported £4.25 million profit in 11 years, and moved to her Cotswolds property in February of this year, which she listed as her address at the trial.

The creative director of Diet Coke is said to live in Notting Hill, albeit he or she hails from nearby Croydon.

The £35 million Mayfair mansion was owned by Barbara Cartland.

Once offered for sale on Valentine’s Day in 2020 at £40 million, the Grade II-listed, double-fronted Mayfair home where “Queen of Romance” Dame Barbara Cartland resided from 1936 until 1950 has now been reduced to a mere £20 million. Not a lot of people bought it.

As the pound’s value fell in October, it was relisted for £35 million to attract purchasers from the United States.

The last house of the author is a six-bedroom, six-reception room Victorian with an Arts and Crafts exterior and a 120-year history. The present owners have put in a luxurious pool, sauna, and bar in the basement and a double bed hanging over the water. Wetherell is still marketing the home for sale.

City of Camberwell townhouse owned by Boris and Carrie Johnson, valued at £1.6 million

The Johnson family—Boris, Carrie, and their children Wilfred and Romy—were uprooted from their home at 11 Downing Street in September when Johnson was removed from his position as Prime Minister.

Dulwich Village and Herne Hill residents speculated feverishly about the family’s future residence.

They had placed their Camberwell townhouse on the market for £1.6 million, and there was no way they were going back there.

Reports suggest that the couple never resided in the £1.2 million, four-bedroom home because they leased it to finance the notorious restoration of 11 Downing Street.

The Hampstead Gothic home owned by Boy George, valued at £17 million

This past November, Boy George put up for sale his massive, Grade II-listed Gothic home. The singer spent three years renovating the house, during which she also acquired Sam Smith’s neighboring home and combined the two places to create a spacious residence.

The singer has lived in this mansion for over 40 years; it contains a meditation tower, six bedrooms (five with their own dressing rooms), a mezzanine movie room, and a roof terrace overlooking the Heath.

The inside is adorned with sculptures and contemporary works of art, most notably a silver torso on a chair supported by two erect penises.
